October Announcer – Ask the Eye Doctor

WHY IS THERE SENSORY THERAPY OFFERED AT AN EYE DOCTOR’S OFFICE?
Visual processing is a key element of our sensory integration system and the connection to the brain
function involved with seeing. The interconnection of the visual system to the auditory and vestibular
systems is key to successful learning and life function. Sensory therapy is needed for those individuals
where this is not working properly due to developmental delays or traumatic occurrences.
BUT WHY SPECIFICALLY AT ALLENDALE EYE CARE?
Dr. Roslund became certified 18 years ago to bring this life changing therapy to West Michigan. Initially
motivated by her own son with Autism, this therapy has successfully improved the quality of life for so
many children and adults.
WHY DID THE NAME CHANGE FROM SENSORY LEARNING CENTER TO REFINED SENSORY SOLUTIONS?
Dr. Roslund combined efforts with other professionals to create a team of Sensory Therapy providers.
The professional expertise now includes Speech and Language Pathologist, Elaina Stewart and
Occupational Therapist, Rachel Boven, all surrounding the sensory integration needs. Our goal is to
make this dynamic therapy readily available to more individuals.
WHAT DOES THIS THERAPY HELP WITH?
It addresses all sensory processing disorders including Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language processing,
fine motor skills, PTSD, TBI and so much more.
HOW CAN I LEARN MORE ABOUT THIS THERAPY?
You can check out our website at RefinedSensory.com which includes a FREE online assessment. Our
team of providers also offer complimentary in-office evaluations and sample therapy sessions.
